EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED: SUSTAINABLE FORESTRY, PAPER & PRINTING
Designers and other customers who purchase large volumes of paper have become increasingly aware of the impact their buying decisions have on the environment. More and more, environmental awareness and corporate social responsibility are becoming core corporate values.
How would you like to know the exact source of your paper and how it was brought to market? When you purchase Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC®) certified paper, you can. You will have contributed to forestry conservation, responsible management and community level benefits for people near the forests that provide your paper. An FSC logo on your print piece tells the world that you support the highest social and environmental standards.
GOING GREEN WITH THE FOREST STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL
The Forest Stewardship Council – FSC – is an international organization created in response to concern over global responsible forest management and consumer demand for environmentally and socially responsible wood products.
FSC members comprise a diverse group of representatives from environmental and social groups, the timber trade, paper industry, forestry profession, indigenous people’s organizations and forest product certification organizations from around the world.
It is their job to ensure that the forests are managed to protect the environment, wildlife habitat, and respect the rights of local communities.
WHY IS THE FSC CHAIN OF CUSTODY IMPORTANT?
When you choose an FSC paper and FSC printer, their Chain of Custody (COC) certification allows you to track a printed product from the shelf back to the forest – to confirm the product originates from a certified, well-managed source.
LOOK FOR THE LOGO
All products carrying the FSC Logo have been independently certified as coming from forests and other certified sources that meet the recognized FSC Principles and Criteria of Forest Stewardship. For a printed product to carry the logo it must be printed on FSC paper by an FSC certified printing company.
We have a wide selection of environmentally friendly stocks that are FSC qualified, because there is no greater feeling than knowing that the paper we love comes from green friendly places.
